Global Connections III

Moscow, New York, Auroville, February 25 • 2016

On February 25th , 2016 in this leap year, people gathered at the Sacred Peace Tables and Altar for Peace: in Auroville, Moscow and New York. We gathered to celebrate with words, music and prayer the Global Connections lll in preparation for February 29, the auspicious day when the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram experienced the descent of the Supramental Energy into the Earth’s atmosphere.  This invitation was sent globally to all friends and supporters of the Nakashima Foundation for Peace.

The unifying factors across the world and at each of the three sites were: the lighting of a candle, offering of flowers, and reading of the invocation which was written by board member Miriam Belov.

AUROVILLE

February 25th was the day that the Hall of Peace in Auroville’s Unity Pavillion was available for the Nakashima Global Connections llI/A Meditation in the Light of the Supramental.  As a Board Member on the Nakashima Foundation for Peace, Miriam Belov was able to secure two hours in the late afternoon for the event and a tea.  The women, originally Swedish and Swiss, who oversee the Pavillion were busy with many events yet most gracious. We were all able to create a powerful moment by working together. Board members Miriam Belov and Julian Lines had flown to Auroville from America.

Here is a YOUTUBE  10 minute version of the hour long invocation in India.  Maddye Belov Boxer, Miriam’s daughter, played a wonderful role in Auroville and was the first person to read a description of special flowers.

There were many flowers on the Nakashima Sacred Peace Table that helped to elevate the atmosphere: lotuses, roses, birds of paradise, orchids, lilies, jasmine, tuberose, French marigolds.  Many were even given away to the participants in the end.  In India and throughout all of Asia, flowers are often an integral part of a ceremony.  It was especially fitting to do so at this event. In Auroville, the inspiring flute music of Gordon Korstange accompanied the ceremony.

One of the most respected and oldest national newspapers of India, The Hindu, sent a team of a young enthusiastic reporter and photographer, and then ran an article about it the next day on the second page.  Jaya, the Executive of the Pavillion, was thrilled to read it since the article mentioned the “Supramental Light”, a cornerstone of Sri Aurobindo’s yoga, in its headline.  see article

Even though this event was to prepare for the auspicious February 29th, a day of evolutionary significance, Miriam was deeply inspired to connect its energy to the fragile climate we see all around us and said: “Let us include the creations of the ancients: Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, the vortex of golden Jerusalem. People from the United Nations to us.  The importance of the COP21 historic agreement and our deep prayers. May these all unite in strength.”

Connected by Skype and reading the blessing together with NY and Auroville. For a unifying presence, Julian was able to Skype with friends from Auroville to other board members: Mira Nakashima, Irene Goldman and Jon Yarnall at the Altar at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC; and at Moscow’s Sacred Peace Table with members of the Russian Academy of Arts, and Society of Friends member Natasha Zhurovenkogo who provided the technology. It was 6:30 in the morning in New York, 2:30 in the afternoon in Moscow at The Russian Academy of the Arts, and 5pm in Auroville! While the connection was somewhat transient, we were all joined around the globe at one moment in time, and with one unifying message of peace.

The Global Blessing Spoken by All

May the words below suffice as written by Miriam and recited by all contemporaneously in Auroville at the Sacred Peace Table in the Hall of Peace; in Moscow at the Sacred Peace Table in the Russian Academy of Arts; and in New York City at the Altar for Peace in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

Please see the powerful flow of Supramental Light and Force and Consciousness that The Mother described flowing from the heart of each cell of your body, illuminating your soul, filling your whole being here and now in 2016. Allow this Supramental Light to flow in a clockwise direction to the other people in the Hall. See The Matrimandir, the soul of Auroville, collaborating with us.

Please make larger circles, embracing all of Auroville and the Ashram. This Supramental Force is now encircling the globe bathing all sentient beings, all of Nature.  It is connecting the Sacred Peace Table in Moscow and the Altar in New York City.  A large wave of peace covering all. Elephants, ladybugs, dolphins and eagles. The iced peaks of Everest, the rainforests of the Amazon, the Grand Canyon, the islands of Hawaii, the Danube River, the great expanse of the Steppes.

We pray for Peace – both planetary and in each of our bodies – and for the Divine grace to stop the ecocide and rejuvenate the environment.

Pure water/clean air, blue sky/green grass, rich soil, vibrant health and strength flooding everyone, every species so precious to the ecological web. See this Golden Consciousness flowing around and through our fragile globe, Mother Earth, as Matter and Spirit unite, Evolving by the Supramental Light, Peace and Love.
