A MEDITATION FOR UKRAINE
Concentrate on George Nakashima’s dream for a World at Peace
Please sit in a quiet place, with your eyes closed, spine erect, shoulders relaxed, and breathe deeply from your belly through your chest, releasing tension and toxins to the far reaches of the Universe as you exhale. Remind yourself that you are in the Universe and that the Universe is within you, quiet, infinite and beautiful. Breathe in the energy of the Universe and allow it to permeate your body, mind and soul.
Imagine that you yourself are experiencing the unspeakable suffering of the Ukrainian people. Think how that must feel, and weep for them and with them.
Then imagine our Mother, Planet Earth, from her icy white polar ice caps through the depths of the deep blue seas, from the burning hot, barren deserts to the lush green rain forests and all that is in between. Imagine a warm golden light surrounding her, protecting her, nurturing and healing her.
Imagine this golden light enveloping Ukraine and all her people, shining brightly, embracing them within its protective arms. Let this light become an impermeable shield.
Imagine a Restoration of Peace.
Imagine all humanity gathered together as one family embracing one another in an eternal golden glow of Love. Let this golden glow surround and permeate you as it surrounds and permeates the globe. Breathe deeply this golden light, increase it within your heart and soul, and send it back to the World, again and again.
Expand the Gratefulness in your heart for all that we have: warm and comfortable houses and places to work, our plentiful food supply, the Freedom to think and do and act as we want. Let this deep Gratefulness glow and send its light to Ukraine, to share what we have to give them the strength and hope to survive this genocide.
As you slowly open your eyes to your quiet space maintain this call for a world at peace. Share and carry this sense of quiet, peaceful Gratefulness in your hearts now and always.
