Furniture Authentications & Valuations

The Nakashima Foundation for Peace is the only source available to provide authentication and true replacement value of any pieces made by George Nakashima. Using detailed Nakashima archives we are able to research and locate the order records of any Nakashima piece made from the early 1950’s to today.

ORIGINAL OWNERS

Copy of Order Card with Signed Authentication Letter
$250 per client name for up to five cards; $50 per additional card

Copy of Order Card
$100 per client name for up to five cards; $50 per additional card

As a courtesy to original owners and their children, records of purchase and authentication letters are offered at a reduced rate.

SECONDARY MARKET

Copy of Order Card with Signed Authentication Letter
$500 per client name for up to five cards; $50 per additional card

$300 per client name for up to five cards; $50 per additional card

We are able to provide official authentication from Mira Nakashima for your keeping when a record of purchase can be confirmed.

INSURANCE & REPLACEMENT VALUATIONS

$250 per standard evaluation for up to five items; $100 per additional item

Insurance valuations include copies of the original order cards that apply to the valuation.

This is a replacement value — the price that the item would cost if purchased from our studio today. The secondary market may value vintage Nakashima pieces differently, which can be estimated by modern furniture dealers or auction houses that specialize in 20th century design.
